Safari & CultureThis 4-day safari is perfect for travelers seeking an intensive gorilla trekking experience combined with scenic landscapes, wildlife encounters, and cultural immersion in southwestern Uganda.
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Upon arrival at Kisoro Airport or from Kampala/Entebbe, you will be picked up by your guide and transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
Along the way, enjoy the scenic drive through southwestern Uganda, passing rolling hills, banana plantations, and small villages.
Arrive at your lodge in Bwindi in the afternoon, where you can relax and prepare for the gorilla trekking adventure.
Optional evening: take a short nature walk around the lodge or enjoy local cultural performances.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
Start the day early with a briefing at the Bwindi Park Headquarters. You will then trek through the dense forest in search of a gorilla family.
The trek can take anywhere from 2 to 7 hours depending on the gorillas’ location.
Once you locate the gorillas, you will spend one magical hour observing them, capturing photos and watching their interactions.
Return to the lodge for lunch and spend the evening at leisure, reflecting on the incredible experience of spending time with these gentle giants.

Day 3: Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and Gorilla Trekking
After breakfast, drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, a smaller park located near the borders of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Mgahinga is home to a gorilla family as well as the rare golden monkeys.
Embark on a gorilla trekking adventure similar to Bwindi, accompanied by experienced guides and trackers.
For golden monkey enthusiasts, an optional golden monkey tracking session is available in the afternoon.
Return to your lodge for relaxation and dinner.

Day 4: Mgahinga Exploration and Departure
On the final day, enjoy a relaxed morning at the lodge or take a short nature hike around Mgahinga, exploring its scenic volcanoes and lush forests.
Depending on your departure schedule, drive back to Kisoro, Kabale, or Kampala/Entebbe for onward travel.
Stop along the way for photographs of the breathtaking landscapes and local communities.
