Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your driver/guide. Transfer to your hotel in Entebbe for check-in and relaxation. Depending on your arrival time, you may explore the Botanical Gardens or enjoy a sunset boat cruise on Lake Victoria.
Day 2: Entebbe – Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
After breakfast, drive northwards with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for exciting rhino tracking. Continue your journey to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest protected area. Upon arrival, settle into your lodge for an evening of relaxation.
Day 3: Game Drive and Boat Safari in Murchison Falls
Rise early for a thrilling game drive across the northern bank of the Nile. Look out for elephants, giraffes, lions, buffaloes, and antelopes. In the afternoon, take a boat safari along the Nile to the base of the majestic Murchison Falls, where the river squeezes through a narrow gorge. For adventure lovers, an optional hike to the top of the falls awaits.
Day 4: Murchison Falls – Kibale Forest National Park
Today you journey south through the Albertine Rift Valley with beautiful scenery, tea plantations, and crater lakes en route. Arrive at Kibale Forest National Park, renowned for its primates, and settle into your lodge for the night.
Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Wetland Walk
Head into the lush Kibale Forest for an unforgettable chimpanzee trekking experience. The forest is also home to red colobus, black-and-white colobus, and L’Hoest’s monkeys. In the afternoon, explore the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a haven for birdwatchers and community interaction.
Day 6: Kibale – Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most diverse and visited parks. Stop at the equator line in Kikorongo for memorable photos before entering the park. In the evening, enjoy a short game drive in the Kasenyi plains.
Day 7: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
Start the day with a game drive in the Kasenyi sector, known for lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and Uganda kobs. Later, take a boat safari on the famous Kazinga Channel, where hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species thrive along the water shores.
Day 8: Ishasha Sector and Transfer to Bwindi
Drive through the scenic Ishasha sector, renowned for its rare tree-climbing lions. Continue south to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to almost half of the world’s mountain gorillas.
Day 9: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
This is the highlight of the safari – gorilla trekking. After a briefing at the park headquarters, venture deep into Bwindi’s dense forest in search of a gorilla family. Once found, spend one unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants. In the evening, enjoy cultural entertainment by the Batwa community.
Day 10: Bwindi – Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, transfer to the magical Lake Bunyonyi, one of Africa’s deepest and most scenic lakes with 29 islands. Relax at your lodge, go canoeing, or simply enjoy the tranquility of the lake.
Day 11: Lake Bunyonyi Exploration
Spend the day relaxing and exploring Lake Bunyonyi. Activities include canoe rides, birdwatching, hiking, and visiting local communities to learn about their culture. This is the perfect place to unwind after gorilla trekking.
Day 12: Lake Bunyonyi – Lake Mburo National Park
Today, head to Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest savannah park but home to zebras, giraffes, impalas, and elands. In the evening, take a game drive or a walking safari for a closer look at the wildlife.
Day 13: Walking Safari and Transfer to Entebbe
Start the morning with a guided walking safari in Lake Mburo, where you can see zebras, giraffes, and antelopes up close. Later, drive back to Entebbe with a stop at the Uganda Equator for photography and souvenir shopping.
Day 14: Departure
Depending on your flight time, relax at your hotel or explore Entebbe town. Transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your departure, marking the end of this incredible 14-day safari.
